These are also called "Trafficators". I recently got a 12V set off E-Bay that came from a 50's Morris Minor. They wire up real easy. The unit's chassis when mounted is connected to ground. The wire coming out of it goes to positive via a switch. Note that you can't wire them into your standard turn signal circuit as that will cause them to open and close the whole time which I can't think is very good for them. They need a steady power source. I'm going to use it on my '34 Chevy as front turn signals. I'll be mounting them in the sides of the grille shell. I will however make a small modification and connect the bulb to the flasher circuit to allow it to flash when open.
