Yes I'm crazy... A while back someone posted pictures of a longroof with billet 20" wheels with whitewalls of some kind. There was some discussion about how they were perhaps made and the comments were pretty positive. I was trying to track down that photo or the owner of that car. I realize its not HAMB material, but you guys are the most resourceful bunch out there and our fingers spread far and wide. If anyone has any leads on low profile whitewalls between 17" and 20" I'd really appreciate the help. Even some advice on how this might be done. My research has turned up nothing and the tire companies generally laugh at me for good reason I guess. I've also checked the whole spectrum of goldchainer and minitruckin forums with no luck. Maybe its a sign. -Dane
I don't want to encourage you, but a guy at Diamondback said they can make whitewalls by thermobonding to any 18" or 20" tires. I need to make some 19.5" big truck tires into whitewalls and he couldn't help me because he doesn't have a jig for that size. I'd like to hear any other ideas that are out there though.
from what i understand, diamondback classic can put a white wall in any tire. A friend of mine wanted white walls for a 63' lincoln ,but his originally came with 14" rims and he couldn't get a tire with the same diameter and load rated for the big 63' so he went to 16" rims and is using truck tires that have the right load rating and overall diameter. I'm pretty sure he told me Diamond back classics did the white wall
Whitewall Candy Store lists 16's, 18's and 20's in their latest brochure...sorry, it's not in front of me so I can't give you a web site or an address...I know they've advertised in some of the rod mags... R-
40studedude you're the man! They do indeed make them and they are about an hours drive from me. I'll have to take a look and see if they can make me a set of 255/35/20. $450 a pop isnt cheap Thanks again. -Dane
Glad to help...the big sizes don't do me any good...I gotta stay with 15" whites...but...to each his own... R-
