Event Coverage September 2009, Icons of speed and style auction

I bumped Ryan’s Art Gerrick car thread after finding some vintage pictures of it on EBay. Which got me wondering what it brought at the Ralph Whitworth auction. I grabbed my catalog and thought I may as well do a thread on the event 15 years later.

 

Ralph and I were pals and he asked me to write the forward for the catalog. I am the first to admit that I am no writer but here’s what I came up with

 

I am going to show some catalog pages and list the sold prices (fees included)for some of the cars. While some think everything sold too cheap, some brought really good money, Ralph told me at the after party that he got back 82 percent of what he had in them and that it was better than he was doing in the stock market at the time
