Central Pa. In my case, my shop neighbors will probably find me when I begin to ripen.

Any doctor or nurse says I did the right thing, an extra 2 minutes would have killed me. I coded in the ER. My son gets there and they cleared the place of all visitors in seconds. I feel better today and I'm up and around, getting my claim for STD going.

I have people around quite a bit. The home nurse hasn't showed up yet. People drop off chow for us. My buddy stopped by this morning on his way to work and my son works very locally.

You're likely to hear all kinds of survivor stories. Including mine from this past May.

Just remember different people recover at different rates.
Listen to your doctors and do what they say.

My experience has been that way before my body was ready my mind was saying "Yeah I can do that"

Your mind may be wrong about that sort of thing, so take it easy :)

Been there myself. Seven byp*** surgery. Glad you went to ER when you did. I walked in also. Down several weeks but have had several years added to me. Follow docs orders and you will be fine in a few weeks. Dont rush it. Finished my car while recovering.

Glad you're okay! Hang tough! My dad had three heart attacks, two byp***es with valves and stints. His last heart surgery went fine until they couldn't wake him up. He had his first one at age 42. He was a smoker. I, on the other hand, feel very lucky. I have never had a heart attack, so, I could not imagine having one except to watch my dad. I never smoked and was never really a drinker. I haven't had a beer since 1980. Anyway.....Take care of your self, do what the doc say's to do and let the people around you smother you! Because, that's what they want to do.

Have had two heart attacks, a couple of stents, and am looking at the possibility of a couple more.

You will get better and be amazed at how much better you feel, but take it slow and follow orders.

And take time to thank The Man for letting you stick around.

  16. I feel your pain. Christmas eve I had a heart attack, not the kind that knocks the **** out of you but never the less, a heart attack. Not to one up you but they did a quint byp*** (5). I was out of the hospital in three days after the operation and 30 days of bed rest. First check up at the doctor, he asked me how I was feeling and I said never better, He told me that he would see me in two years. No meds or restriction required. If its any help, you will feel better than you have in years. I don't know where you are in recovery but this I can tell you walk, walk, walk as much as you can, very important to get your lungs going again. And don't let anybody tell you to take it easy, your stronger that they think. I mean what the hell, your going to die someday anyway just don't do it sitting in a chair because everybody wants you to take it easy. I'm closing in on 71, Doc says I'm good for another 20 years.

Remember, you're priority one. So take it one day at a time. As we know time flies and before you know it, you'll be back in the swing of things. Wishing you the best!

Great to hear that you're on the mend. Listen to the doc, take your meds and don't be afraid to ask questions. Get better first and have a plan for what you're going to do after you do. Better than a "dirt nap!" (That came from Grumpier Old Men).

HolyChrist! Just reading that sent cold chills thru me! Glad you are with us, spending time on the Hamb will be required as an important part of your therapy. Wow!

  24. My heart attack was 8 1/2 years ago, and I don't own any Fords.
I will echo what others have said, (1) follow the doctors instructions and (2) follow the doctors instructions that you overlooked in item one.
This is serious business, do what is needed to make you whole again.
Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery!

  29. Wow glad you made it! Have a friend he had back surgery 2 weeks ago and over the weekend he was having a hard time breathing so his wife took him to his heart doc Monday morning and in the exam room coded and they could not bring him back. most likely would still be here had he gone in when it first came on.
