I think getting an R2 Avanti is an excellent choice in my opinion. I'd like to someday own an R2 or R3 Lark... but thats pretty doubtful :(

If I won the lottery the first car I'd probably buy actually would be a new car... I'd get me an Ariel Atom.. Then I'd get a Studebaker Coupe Express :)

The whole reason I dont have a car right now is...I dont know what I want. I have wasted so much on cars in the past I refuse to do it again. Once I decide on 1 or MAYBE 2 I'll buy good starters and build from there. I just love so much stuff i cant focus. Like automotive ADD or something. One of my favorites is any old 30's roadster set up high boy with something besides a SBC, SBF, BBF, etc, maybe a flatty or nailhead, or some sort of turbine engine (sorry theres that ADD thing)...Roadsters dont work well with two kids... 68 stang (o/t) fastback with an all aluminum FE engine just for kicks holds the kids but not a drop top. I just cant do hot rod without the sun burning my bald spot...Then there's this 4 wheel drive bug I've got...jeeps are cool, especially flatfenders, but not comfy for the kids. 4 door trucks rule but a bit big for 4 wheelin any tight trails. Station wagons would be a good family cruiser and my step dad has a near perfect 68 chevelle but I hate to spend the money on it 'cause its not what I would want in the end nor could I rob anything off when I'm done to build my end result dream car...

So here I am, automotive ADD, yeah I'll stick with that.

  5. I actually have most of my dream cars, it's just that they're all currently in various states of disrepair. My dream garage is currently being built, it's just taking a damned long time since I'm the one building it. But, at least I'm not going into debt doing it.
Actually, me, my wife, and a couple friends were sitting around last week talking about what we would do if we, say, won the lottery. We all made top ten lists. That's how nerdy we are. Here's my list:

    1. buy a REALLY nice pair of boots that actually fit
    2. finish building the garage
    3. finish remodeling my house
    4. finish all my cars and bikes
    5. kickass pinball machine
    6. pay off my brother's and sister's mortgages
    7. a totally sick horror DVD collection
    8. 30s Vicky gasser, krazy 392 Hemi with Crower injection, street legal, of course!
    9. 20s chopped-n-channeled roadster pickup with an old 5 cylinder Mercedes diesel and 4-speed with a veggie oil conversion, my daily driver! Cruise around in style while giving the big middle finger to da man! (this one's actually happening soon, with or without the lottery)
    10. 56 Packard Clipper 2dr HT, chopped to hell, lowered to the ground, totally frightening lookin'

  6. I would have to get a lowered, mild custom Lincoln Zephir.

    ,

You can't live in your car so first buy the nicest house you can afford, with a nice big garage. I think homes go up in value more than cars.

HEY!! Channel 9!! The breast exame is on again!

  10. I'm a little worried for you by the cars in your cross hairs. You might be living in one of them, so make sure the windows work. Oh, er, you're serious? There's a beautiful 67 GTO ragtop i have my eyes on. Marina blue/white top, 4-speed, HO, disc brakes, tach/gauges, etc. Also, i'd look for a NICE 59 Elcamino or 57 Pontiac Safari (Nomad's sister) wagon. BUT anyway, you're in a position to buy something nice. So, under no circumstances should you buy a project of any kind

58 Dodge convert. I'd use the rest of the money to keep it in gas.

Now, if yer gonna have a Ferrari, how bout a 250 GTO?? Hell, I'd probably settle for one of those kit on a 240Z chassis w/a SBC in it for chrissakes! Beautiful car.

But if money truly was no object? A car wouldn't be my first purchase - I'd be buying me a Spitfire - not the cheezy little British sportscar, but the two-wing savior during the Battle of Britain.

I'd also have a C-7 Caribou w/a turbo-prop conversion (or not). That way I could haul my cars/bikes around somewhere, land, drive 'em off & have a blast. It beats a trailer anyday! ;)
