Okay here is my stupid quesition for the weekend:D. I crawled under my car tonight to get a close look at the transmission. I got under there and realized it's brand new/rebuilt:eek:. So I am just going to change the fluids, it hasn't been driven since 87. I knew something was up when the clutch still had the "inspected by" sticker on it when I took it out. So here is my question, Where is the fill point on the transmission? I cant find it and it doesn't specify where it is in the shop manual. So if anyone knows please help. You can call me dumb, as long as you tell me where it is!!! Thanks. And this is one funky looking transmission by the way.

    Thanks
    Jack

Fill it till it starts to come out the fill hole, put the plug back in and smile at your accomplishment!

Thats the problem I can't find the fill hole!! And I know its staring right at me! It isn't a difficult operation but for some reason I'm stumped, maybe I'm just spent and need to reconvene inthe AM.

Try to find a square head pipe plug on the side of the case, about 1/2 way up the height of the case.

    Then follow Da Tinman post.

Thanks for the tip. This is the second remedial task that has just stopped me dead in my tracks. Very aggrivating:mad:. Glad I have the HAMB to give me the occasional but deserved dope slap:D

    Thanks again

If the trans has an overdrive, don't forget to check the fluid level for that unit as well.

It needs to be filled seperately. Filling the trans will not fill the OD.

The OD is the same deal, just another square head plug. There should be (4) total, (2) upper for filling and (2) lower for draining. They should be on the pass side of the trans.
