Thank you, I'm excited, I just wanna drive her, it's been 2 1/2 years. Here's the brackets I had to make from scratch, my splash pans and brackets were missing when I bought the truck. Here's the grille in for the last time, I hope, the filler pieces pull in closer but I ran out of nuts and bolts, they attach to the radiator support, I didn't wanna drill the Imperial grille. I need a pair of upper hood eyebrows, mine aren't in good shape, the lower ones are fine.
I can come over next week. I am down south until Tuesday. We were on a mission last Sat.to get my gas tank back in the Jeepster..OOPS sorry OT car, and was going to stop by. Brian and Jay Tee said the paint came out stunning. Your pictures look great! You should be quite proud of your hard work.
Looking really good. I just spent several hours on my lower eyebrows, trying to get out the dents and do a little polishing.
Mine were great, easy to knock out a few dents but the uppers had rusted backs and there's always electrolysis between the aluminum and steel and when I took them apart to fix the dents the aluminum tore in several places.
Decided to spray the inserts of the side molding in pink metalflake, here's the base coat applied with the pieces hung on a piece of styrofoam.
Yeah, just made my mind up today, I checked and I had about 4 oz of the Honda pink color left, just enough to cover the trim. I just taped up the edges, scuffed with a coarse 3M pad, sprayed some self etch primer and shot it. Heading home in a few and shooting the 'flake. It's hot, wish me luck.
Thank you. I can't tell you how many hours I have in straightening and polishing this trim, but to see it all shiny and painted I'd say it was worth it.
I'm dreading the buff out, I've done half the hood so far, it's messy and we've got a buyer coming to look at the house. I'll get on it, once that's over, hope it sells.
I bought a T-Bucket body off my pal Skip and he just dropped it off so I press ganged him and his buddy Robert to help hang the front bumper. It looks awesome, the car/truck is coming together.
I once had a 64 caddy that someone packed a huge hole in the finder with 00 steal wole and about a 1/4 inch of junk bondo. I laughed for days after I got over being pissed because someone did something that dumb I hate bondo
Are you going to paint the stuff behind the grill flat black so it's just the grill that shows up and not the rad etc?
I saw a '59 in the Rik Hoving, Larry Watson photos thread that did not have the turn signals or grilles in the hood but were made to look like the intakes on a Vulcan bomber. It also had a Merc grille and looked great. I think the intake idea would look great on your car/truck.
