From what I see online, that's not a walking foot machine. More likely just a heavy duty version of a regular machine, made for production work like in a sewing plant. Some of those machines will run extremely fast for piece rate sewing, but they're not what you need for upholstery work.

OK Boys - I bought one......... I located a Brother LS2-B837 through a re-sale shop that buys out estates, and they just cleaned out someones commercial sewing business. This thing is like NEW, no scratches on the table and the frame is the same way, a box of needles, spare bobbins, spare feet, and the woman never used this because it was TOO heavy duty for doing d****ries.
It does have a clutch motor rather than a servo, but I will start with this one & practice a lot.
My only drawback is that they could not find the operations manual (parts manual, yes) and I have been searching the internet all day with no luck finding a copy. Oh ya, I spent 5 hundred on this one, but it was only 10 miles from my house, and from what I looked at on Craigs list & E-bay, this one is a whole lot cleaner & in better condition. A manual - possibly :( Steve

i own a Pfaff because it became available at the right price, almost zero hours and well kept. what i know is Consew, Juki, Singer are more basic machines making them easier to time when needed. Anyone i have know with a Pfaff when timing goes out which is rare off to shop it goes for service, not owner/user friendly so you will be spending the bucks on it!

Glad you found a machine , hope it works out for you. It just takes practice , even using small cut off strips and just sewing is good. I personally have only had one machine timed by a pro, and it wasn't mine. A shop I had just started working at had a 545 we could not use and we couldn't make it work , in walks an 82 year old man and wants to know if we need any machines worked on. He says he was repair guy at one of the car companies. He worked on that machine about an hour with a lot of precision gap setters and whatnots. When he was done , he showed me how good it worked by raising the knee lift and hitting the gas as fast as it would go and writing the owners name on a s**** like they do on a Disneyland hat. The only thing was that he wasn't strong enough to tighten the set screws and I had to.

Manual is too large to send as e-mail attachment, so here is the source of the owners manual and parts manual, straight from the source, Brother:

    1. Select product group: Industrial embroidery and sewing
    2. Select by scrolling down to model as: LS2-B837
    3. then GO

That will bring a page up with the two manuals that you can download.

The same manuals are also probably applicable to any old Singer based walking foot machines.

I wanted a PFAFF 545 but I ended up with a CONSEW 206RB-2 (w servo and knee lift)
Basically these are all copies of the original SINGER model 111, a workhorse walking foot that can go through 3/8" leather.

TRUE - I think its the 206RB-5, I have also read of the problems. Try to get an earlier CONSEW walking foot if you want a CONSEW.

Anyone familiar with a Benz LU 53? Think this may be the machine the Juki's are a knock-off from? Looking at one locally.
This is an old walking foot machine, looks pretty rugged.
