I appreciate all the articles and pics of the old Dragway,They are clearly remarkable! I grew up and still live a few miles from the track. I do remember hearing the roaring engines on the weekends but was never there to see the action as i was still quite young at the time. Growing up i became interested in the saga in the local paper about the pcb contamination and the clean up that was to follow. My friends and i spent many days riding atv trails around the old strip and also exploring the announcers tower,(my favorite) concession building which still had benches and fixtures attached and the tire scorched staging area. It was as though it had been frozen in time with all that was still there. I will say that it was about 1984 or 85.I did happen to find some regisratration forms and a few other paper items under a counter top in the concession building that i still have somewhere. I am sure all of you folks that raced or attended as spectators have many fond memories and will always remember what once was the South Glens Falls Dragway.
