Has anyone tried shortening/cutting out a section of their rear spring shackles on a 49 shoebox? Jamco wants $90.00 fora new pair of the shorter shackles! I was told if I cut the stock ones they would lose strength, etc. What do you guys think, do it anyway or what? Sure as hell can't afford to drop $90 right now just to look cool...

Unkl- they're about 5 1/2" long. I was thinking about starting with 1/2" sectioned and go from there. I can always take more off, right?! [IMG]

Does a shoebox have parallel leaves?(leafs?) If so you know that taking 1/2 out is only gonna lower the car 1/4 inch right? It'll only lower it half of what you take out. You probably knew that though [IMG]
