1952-59 Ford shackles for leaf springs?

Hey gang! take a look under your customline and tell me which way your shackles point. In my ford owners manual It shows them pointing up inside the C clip area. On my car my shackles and leaf springs are under the C clip area. Which way are they supposed to go?

I've got mine pointing up towards the frame.
