    No offense to anyone, but the reason you need to opt out vs opt in is that most people that get these policies think they'd remember to up their policy. They don't. And then reality bites them in the *** and the car is under insured.

    It's like the old guy that you are trying to buy some old gold from. "I'll get to that someday". And someday never comes.

    So just to follow up on this, I got my renewal a few weeks back. The value on the car was up to $39k. So, in the 7 years I've owned it, it's gone up in value (or at least in cost to repair) $9000 according to Grundy. So all in all, I suppose this is not such a bad thing. Even if the payout on a totaled car doesn't equal what you insured it for, the ever-increasing parts and labor prices are covered. Hopefully I'll never have to use it.

    I am going to use a word I dont like I HATE Insurance it pays to shop around every few years
