Shane, the chop looks killer, Nice work. Cant wait to see it lowered. I was thinking a 3" haircut on my 30 Tudor, but wow, your 4.5" looks so good. Question. I am guessing you havent driven it yet, but when you sit in it, how is the view? Also, I see a lot of guys do a step when they cut the rear corners for a chop but I saw you went with a straight line. You guys obviously have some serious skills, Is there an advantage to the straight cut vs the step? Or is it just a matter of preference?
So SAD Shane!!! That one should have stayed original. I would have loved to have owned that one!!! Don't get me wrong it now looks good BUT I hate it when someone takes a restoration and tears it up. I learned not to hurt really good originals and chop the ones that needed help. Instead of the body wood I put 1" and 1.25" square tupe which was trimmed to replace the wood with an almost exact fit. It is just the way we all kind of did things. That WAS a beautiful restoration. Now comes the wood removal after you install a V-8 it will start falling apart so that WILL be Next (in time) and the V-8 and juice brakes, etc. Shame to see that happen to THAT car! Yes it is yours!!! Yes you have the right to do whatever you desire. Years ago many of these cars were done this way in Calif. Yes it will look good I am sure after you do your thing. I still prefer to do it the way I was taught. Chop and modify the ones that would be hard to restore. I have been taking the hot rodded, my 28 AR and my 30 model A both roadsters and unhot rodding them. These were built in the 60's and 70's and I have been reinstalling all new Howell's sheetmetal and installing them onto original frames. Removing the butchery and trying to bring these two back to original state. NOW THAT"S HARD. Going the other way is not hard. Don't get me wrong again I like and build hot rods too. But you HAD a very nice original car. It will never be that way again. ORIGINAL I said. Al in all yes it looks nice and sits well but where will it stop? It won't. Will it be nice to drive and look at... I am sure it will!!! But it can never go back. I miss driving the old stockers. I go out and pick up a Christmas tree in one of mine just prior to Christmas. Everyone waves and does the thumbs up! With the tree hanging on the side. It is FUN (to me) to relive how it was in the past. I have hot rodded MANY T's and A's so don't get me wrong. I do the chops! Simple on an A model. But I can't stand to drive one of those any more. Neck and shoulder arthritis. I hate having to turn my head to talk to someone or hand tolls out for freeways. I have driven MANY miles in some of my chop jobs!!!!!! At one time (age 30) yeah I liked them. In a way I STILL do but not a drastic chop job (me today). So NOW, you got a no-like for the chop on your blog. Keep up the nice work... remember it IS YOUR car!!!!!

That was a nice car, that became a better car! I liked the 3inch chop over the last. But I like the last over not chopped! Non color on the belt line, but maybe a thin pin stripe above belt line. But way better now look wise. What are you doing to keep the engine up to the look of the car? B-engine, two updraft carbs, Mallory black cap or vw 009 ignition and milled head, Winfield or police heads. [emoji41]

With close to 5,000,000 Model A's built I suspect there all literately thousands of original Model A's left awc2000. The Hamb is a hot rod site after all. HRP
Here is an update for you guys...... I just picked this 49 fathead up from an old hot rodder in Green Bay who just lost his wife. It was freshly rebuilt by Wisconsin engine and machine in October of last year.
