  5. if you have internet access, there's 2 stations I can recommend, both out of Ypsilanti, Michigan

www.wemu.org - it's an NPR station, sorry, but the only good source of jazz and blues in Michigan

    and

www.wsds1480.com - a classical country station. No, not Billy Ray Cyrus or Garth Brooks, the old shit, Sons of the Pioneers, Hank Thompson, et al.

Or, the Blues Brothers albums, anything by BB King, Dean Martin, Suicidal Tendencies, early Metallica, or the cheap compilation albums at Target or (gasp) Wal Mart that have 3 cds in them, like the blues, delta blues, jazz, swing and jive, etc.

But only listen to it when you think they aren't listening, but all us parents know they really are. [IMG]

My parents raised me on 70's rock/pop... I guess all the car rides I took with my grandfather and the big band station rubbed off more...

none of this addresses the crucial question-
just how much IS that doggy in the window- you know, the one with the waggly tail?

well, come on- I need some answers, pronto.

What a gay ass post... I would think one would be more worried about teaching kids MORALS and let them find their own musical tastes.

Where would one go to buy morals? Maybe we could all chip in and buy her some...or better yet, let the taxes pay for it, we pay for every other fucked up person in the country.

I like how a lot of you shitheads will gladly talk shit about someone you haven't met.

Some 'ol hippy-longhair said long ago something about CASTING STONES?

Maybe some of you need to check and see if you have forgotten FOREIGN OBJECTS jammed up your asses... not healthy, best to get that removed. When plumbing gets stopped up, it can back up all the way to the highest point in the system, you know.

"Homepage?" Some of you are simply too dense to appreciate sarcasm.

LOL, look who your defending - she would NEVER say ANYTHING rude to someone she hasn't met would she? She's one of the worst on the board for giving people shit, being rude, etc. Why should we spare her feelings? she doesn't spare others.

    It's true.

    I am a shit head.

A shit head who has a hard time distinguishing between REAL off-topic posts and FAKE off-topic posts.

Now don't let the on/off topic thing get your knickers in a bunch.

Everyone knows I can say nothing about off topic posts. They are just so damn fun.

Anyways, a good HAMBbro and I have been messaging back and forth and I find that this post was started by someone I know.

I thought it was another ghost poster.

    Apparently I missed the transition.

So, anyway, figuring this to be a ghost poster, I went for it.

    Sarcasm works both ways.

So, in the best way I know how, I apologize.

Can we all be friends again?

Can we let this post die?

Can you get rid of that link?

Today on the "Gay and the Useless" we will find out how many ageing punkers it take to cary the dimming flame of unfocused rebellion..

Also, will burndup forsake his family for the wiles of the silly vixen Rattrodbailingwiregirl?..

Or will Hotloadbellygrrrrrrrrrl be revealed as not a real person at all, but actually Germ's long repressed FEMININ SIDE TM, struggling to break free?...

I can hardly wait for next episode!!! It all seems so Real!

Also if you can get your kids to actually LIKE Hank Williams, you're set. And if you can get them to recognize Chuck Berry as the true "King," then you can die satisfied.

Here's some of my favorite bands, kinda obscure, you might have to hunt 'em down.

Beltsander- "How 'Bout Some 30 grit For Your Skull?"

Trooper Dan- "Four on the Floor and a Fifth Under the Seat"

A Touch of Soul- "Hey, Who Let the Black Guy in the Band?"

Styx $ Stones- "I Can't Get No Mr. Roboto"

Bubba's House Of Snakes- "Say, Are My Pants Wriggling?"

Turkish Gravity Bus- "Stop Stop Volcano"

Haunted Launderamat- "The Tide Is Spooked."

It's all very well trying to shape someones mind, but I think it's better to shape the container that the mind is in.
I like to wack my kids upside the head with rolled up newspapers and Hot Wheels tracks, and now they love listening to Throbble Gristle.

Oh yeah Jah Wobble's good too, and Can.

That was supposed to say Throbbing Gristle, not Throbble Gristle, but I kinda like that word Throbble. It's kinda descriptive of a migraine headache, which is what this thread's giving me.

How can you set an EXAMPLE,,, when you are a BAD CLONE,,,,,, Start your kids on classic rock/reggae/blues/jazz and let them move on from there. They'll each find their own path that way instead of being BRAINWASHED,,, by someone they look up to.

A solid musical foundation of the past allows a smooth progression into unique musical tastes.

If I had listened to my role model's musical tastes, I'd still be smoking shitty weed and listening to Men at work.

I think your children would get enough "shaping" to last a lifetime if you just brought them on one of your first dates. They're probably tired of listening the the CDs you play when you're stripping, right? And I'm sure they'll get their second-hand smoke fix off your beer-soaked thongs lying in the corner waiting for them to wash.

I was walking through Canadian Tire (cross between Pep Boys and Walmart) the other day and that was playing. I think I'm getting old.

How about Diesel Doug and the Long Haul Truckers, "If I'd Shot Her When I Met Her (I'd be outta jail by now)"?

Good God RF, that has to be the most cutting put down of all time.
    You know something we don't?

My kid's screaming, I've gotta slap him with a 2x4 and put in a Resident's CD, that ought to calm the little shit down.
