Y'all can kiss my ass, that car's beautiful. It's over the top, yes, but it's so over the top that it's done flipped over into an alternate Kustom Universe. The opinions on this car could run 20 pages on it's merits pro or con. But, it does have alot of history and it's been around along time, well over 20 years. The car is famous. Mr. DeRosa and his son are hardcore, old school customizers. They are a little more celebrated in the Lowrider world than anywhere else probably. The car is over the top for sure. Yet, if you saw his other work; you can see a a style and craftsmaship that's cool and all his own. I dig it alot better than some of the hidieous one upmanship of the late '50's and very early'60's. .50 cents worth! Joel

No , I understand just fine , the car is ugly . lots of his earlier stuff was nice . he had an unudeniable style , but as the carshow world started calling the shots , this is the type of ass ugly abominations that were sprouted . the " i have more antennas / lake pipes / steering wheels / hubcaps with foot tall bullet spinner blade caps . . . " The only thing good at all about that car is that it is a neat shade of blue .

gasmonkey, I don't buy and sell a lot of vehicles. I build them, I use them, I stay faithful to them, they become part of my life. I think in your line of work, they're a means to ever increasing profits. I would love to own the Sharkmobile, you do own it (momentarily), but I don't think you could give two shits about the car or it's history. Cars to you are commodities, to me they're a way of life. You sir, are indeed a used car salesman. Show me something you've built and prove to me that you're capable of doing it. After that, see if you can hold on to it and love it for a decade or more, instead of turning it around for a buck. I don't know you, but the word on the street is that you're a shyster and you have made outrageous claims about whence your cars came from. Even your brainwashed employee, MarkX, has alluded to you talking "loud and fast." I don't think I've ever learned a damn thing from anyone who talked like you.
Well Gasmonkey, as one of your early critics I am going to say welcome to the HAMB. Mark says your a cool guy, I have not met you personally but plan to at some point. (provided you don't want to kill me over this post ) I will be honest and say that the "heresay" part of you post bothers me a bit, I read the thing posted on the top of the A at Goodguys along with several other people when it was in the "homebuilt" section, and it read to me and those people that you were claiming you built the car. One of the guys that worked for you was also spouting complete BS about the car at the show and was a bit over the top in how he was acting. I got to point out at the same time some people on the older threads said you were a stand up guy. (I think one guy had sold a car to you off the HAMB). That A story hurts your rep a bit, but as for the buying and selling of cars...well, my old man works for the oldest still existing note lot in Texas and the car biz it cool with me. In fact, I really do wish I could do what you do and you are living the dream if you ask me...messing with cars all the time. I am interested in hearing your response on the A building thing because of the conflicting issues over it, but in other ways it would probably be best forgotten. If you stick around (and once that stuff about the A is a dim memory) you will probably like it around here and you will meet some cool people in the DFW with HAMB ties. Im one of the biggest dorks on the HAMB (ask Ryan, Cab, Buzzard, etc.) and I was a critic of the antics at Goodguys (I got sprayed by you from your beer)...but Mark is a good friend and if he says your okay then I gotta put something into that...so once again welcome and all that. So balls in your court I guess, you can tell me to stuff it, explain the A thing, ignore it, post again on something else, leave, whatever...but I give you props for showing up and taking the heat on here. The .02 from the guy with the .02 IQ PS, play nice with Nads dude...he is one of the most stand up guys on here and is a RULER!
