[ QUOTE ] gasmonkey, I don't buy and sell a lot of vehicles. I build them, I use them, I stay faithful to them, they become part of my life. I think in your line of work, they're a means to ever increasing profits. I would love to own the Sharkmobile, you do own it (momentarily), but I don't think you could give two shits about the car or it's history. Cars to you are commodities, to me they're a way of life. You sir, are indeed a used car salesman. Show me something you've built and prove to me that you're capable of doing it. After that, see if you can hold on to it and love it for a decade or more, instead of turning it around for a buck. I don't know you, but the word on the street is that you're a shyster and you have made outrageous claims about whence your cars came from. Even your brainwashed employee, MarkX, has alluded to you talking "loud and fast." I don't think I've ever learned a damn thing from anyone who talked like you. [/ QUOTE ] Nads I often do not agree with everthing you post. BUT ON THIS THREAD YOU ARE SO RIGHT ON. Good work buddy.
There was a sentence written in capital lettering and in red ink on the Goodguys Sheet attatched to the car (I think this is what you are referring to)The sentence read.... "I did not originally build this car but have had to rebuild the following as marked including a new motor." as it was not in driving condition when I bought it.This car was built by a guy in Cali and sold to New Jersey before I got it in really shity condition. All cars are bought in some state of rebuilding and the new owner puts their .02 into it!!! Thanks for the post and come by anytime. I do have some really sick projects in the works and we're building a 31 to race in the Bullrun in April.

Welcome to the HAMB, ass monkey. I was at Goodguys Ft Worth this year and saw your cars that you had set up over by the manufactures midway. If memory serves, there was a 54 "Gasser style", 30 Model A and that Shark thing. I spoke with you briefly and you seemed to be quite the arrogant type and your attitude was like "all these cars I have here are worth mucho money", "rat rods are big" and "if your not interested in buying than I dont have time for you" attitude. Well I guess I was obviously broke to you, you sure blew me off. Shame, maybe you were having a bad time. Good luck with your business.
Let me state for the umpteenth time, I ain't shit, I'm a nobody, I'm a no talent loud mouthed fuck but I do have a shred of integrity left. I'm not going to leave behind anything that anybody will ever remember, however if there's one thing I want to leave the world with, it's a good reputation. I'm glad I'm not you, gasmonkey, I would have a hard time going to sleep at night. As far as I'm concerned, there ain't a bit of difference between you and the nouveau Robb Report Rat Rod Speculators.
WOW! . so much attention on subject that shouldnt mean squat! ..... we're spending way too time on this when we could all be doing something much more positive and productive.....................

Nads, you're the man. If'n I'm outta line for saying this, someone slap me around a bit. Monkeydude, I doubt very seriously that you'll be very welcomed around here. Its not really my place to say, maybe, but it would seem that your reputation preceeds you & quite frankly I don't think the HAMB needs the drama you're most likely gonna cause. In my opinion, this place is for traditional rods & customs, not the used car dealers that move 'em. I know thats what your biz is, so best of luck w/ it. Now back on topic- that Sharkmobile is an awesome peice of artwork, but its one damned ugly car.
DRAMA?............what are you talkin about? you queens are all about it. ....Stude,... you couldnt stay away from this post if I double-dog dared you! keep the attenion coming ......... im lovin it!
Yall sure no how to put a smile on somoenes face in the morning. I love the HAmb. Eventhough my feet are still frozen
You guys have nothing better to do with your time then to pick a fight with someone that you do not know. You act like this is a pissing contest. " Gee, that water is cold and deep too" Like the shit you guys are talking. You guys should stop knocking people because they think different then you, if everyone has to measure up to your standards.....oh,this board is about cars, right? Love FieNds....
My name is Regina. I am the daughter of Frank De Rosa, who built this RADICAL custom in the 1970's as well as many, many more through out the years. He is now 79 years old and still goes to his body and fender shop everyday to work hard on creating customs for himself as well as customers. I did a google yesterday on the sharkmobile since it's being sought after in the new KKOA book just out by a collector who wants to buy it. I found this forum and had to really laugh at some of the replies that this posting got... I think this forum should be about the beauty in automobiles. It's really easy to sit back and judge, let your opinion be heard;especially hiding behind an internet screen name. Focus on the good and beauty in things; in this case automobiles. There is way too much negativity in this world. My father is in 8 Hall of Fames across the USA and Europe for his innovative creations through out the span of 50 years. That is a long time and times, styles and people change. His creations have been in about every custom car and hot rod magazine in their time. His cars are still hitting the show circuit and being featured in music videos and ads by various artists; most recently Outkast and Blink 182. My father is a very straight forward man who thinks nothing of telling anyone where to go and how to get there or helping you when your mother or father wouldn't. You can still pull into his shop and share a story, beer and/or laugh. His hobby with automobiles have put him on the map so to speak and road to a much more successful life than one would think. He's a proven fact that you can make your hobbies work for you! You have to enjoy life to the fullest and ask questions along the way. His cars are not for everyone. His cars are created by pure love, imagination, skill, risks, heart and hands. He builds them with his own two hands and has NEVER trailered any one of this customs and there has been many over the years. My brother and I were taken to the Oakland Rod and Custom show in 1975 and were amazed at all the great cars! At that time, he was not building any customs and just doing straight auto body work at his shop. That day, we said the words; "You can't do that! If you could, you'd do it!" The next day, we were awaken early for what it seemed the longest car ride ever to Northern California to find some broken down junk of a car which later became the award winning Merc 4. He made us sand and work side by side on that car to prove his point and prove that we didn't really know it all after all. From that day forward, we didn't tell him he couldn't do anything. He paved the way for builders though out the years. In the 70's and 80's the show circuit was all about Hot Rods and not so much Customs or for that matter; RADICAL customs. He kept showing up to all the shows bringing more and more customs with him. Now, he's honored for it. He was one of the first to chop, section and channel an automobile. Now, he is busy teaching my children the art. I send my kids down to the shop to sand, grind and get dirty working side by side with their papa and uncle. We are currently building 2 Cadillacs that are going to blow your minds~
I just want to go on record as saying i like that car and a lot of his others ..i was bummed when that car got talked about so badly . BUT like you said his cars are not for everyone .....don't take us all as negative dicks ... o.k. back to the regular scheduled shit talking ...
The auction has been pulled by eBay, possibly because someone reported it for keyword spamming or PROBABLY because ebays auction description scanning software picked up the word "keyword" in the description. Folks you can't put all the halibrand, flathead, barris, sharp, horne, mallory, stromberg 97, westergard, winfield, cragar, edelbrock, 32 Ford, engle, crower, offenhuaser, vertex, etc. terms in your auction description. It's called Keyword Spamming, and is against the ebay rules and they can pull your auction. Keep doing it after one of your auction gets pulled and you WILL get a suspension. Do it again and you will become a "Non Registered User". Put the word "keyword" in the description and they most probably will find it on their own, and they will pull the auction, and they will not give you any access to the description you typed out, as it's....gone!
D'OH...I didn't look at the date on the first post. (I still hate keyword spammers....it really screws up searches on ebay where you include words in the description as part of the search)
The car did sell, but the guy who bought it has not come and got it yet last I heard...so it is still in the DFW area being stored for the guy who bought it (and he is out of state). I don't remember much else...MarkX might know more...maybe.
I met the guy at Decateur. He seemed nice enough on first impressions.Yeah , he talks loud and fast but hell I do too. There's lots that don't care for me either. I'm jealous that I don't have the money he does to throw around. He beat me to a car that I should have bought. He just sold it on ebay and made a good profit. he did however offer it to me before it went on ebay. I passed. I'm just jealous because he's rich and I'm not. TP
hes cool to work for ....lets me use my artistic ablity and is having me build and REBUILD some sick shit as we speak! So how many of you that replied, like the job you have now? There ya go. BTW MarkX yer boss want ta start a machine shop in Austin?
I liked the big rig at the RoundUp- RAD! And the beaters like the crashed 4-door Caddy hauled in on flatbeds-AWESOME!!! Way to rat rod! You fit in seemlessly with all the other real car guys I do think the trunk logos should be a little bigger on all your cars- maybe add them to the hood and doors too!
