Anybody have any pictures or info on the Shasta Roadsters. They were the "Big Boys" when I was a kid. I use to go to club house and help the guys with the streamliner (Redhead). I remember the first roadster I rode in was Bob McGrath's. Don Hammond had a duece coupe.
I am a friend of one of the member. They will be at Bonneville the first weekend of speed week. They park at the four mile mark in the pits. texs1935
I attended a number of their shows at Anderson(?) and entered my '29 Tudor in 1964. I remember the Redhead. I have some old photos from the car shows if I could find them, I have a few posted on my fotki account now. Didn't they also run the strip at the Redding airport too? I went there whenever I could, and ran a few times, but it was a hundred miles drive south from Yreka and the interstate was not done yet.
Shasta Roadsters is now on Facebook, I somehow ended up in charge and maintaining it. We kind of rekindled it as we have four plus cars racing out of Redding at Bonneville and a lot of the original guys are still around. We have several photo albums on there of our cars but will expanding it at this years Speedweek. I would like pictures or info from the 1950's and 60's if anyone has any. Can be from any of the old cars shows, Redding Drag Strip, etc. and I'll add albums for them. And yes we are always between the 3 and 4 mile markers facing the long course. We will also be flying a large green Shasta Roadsters flag this year. Thanks for any help. Troy
