sitting in my driveway now, in eyes site if i peak out the blinds, feels good....

tomorrow or tuesday its going to an exhaust shop. any recomonidations for a muffler? dual glasspacks?? i want a low rumble but when i step on the gas i want that loud great v8 sound. what do you guys recomend?

....i also have to paint the other side, i was gonna sand it back down to the original color when i bought it, a blue and white mixture, but i think the primer gray is growin on me :) still not sure what color to paint it! long ways to go before i get there but we'll see.

next on the list i think is the interior. not to sure though... just finished a 9 month project so i wanna enjoy it while i can.

i have the body panels that i bought from dearborn, gotta replace the rear quarter and both rocker panels.
then i imagine ill buy the floor pans, get a good carpet and make some door panels, get a headliner in it, a new back seat, fix up the front seats a little bit... ideas are running in my head :)

I like '58s just a little bit. I've owned six of them. ;) Great car, I've always had a soft spot for their unique looks.

Unique indeed! Drove mine around the block today. Not certified and plated yet. EMS makes alot of sheet metal for these cars.

  7. If you had time to wait for shipping, I'd say Brockman Mellow Tones. Sweet steel pack rumble, would be perfect with the Y. You should be able to get decent glass packs at your local parts shop though, probably Thrush. Good to finally see the 58 motivate.

    lol

  10. well you got the car running and stopping , now you need to quiet up the car before the neighbors go on a witch hunt , i would start on the exterior first , screw the interior for now , you would be surprised at how many of us have zip for and interior and you can always do it later .. my 3cts worth (inflation and all):D

Ya, get the body cleaned up. You can run primer till the cows come home. Worry about the interior later.

and yea definatley ill do the exterior first now. thinking about it last night, it would be the sensible thing to do. and sometime this week an exhaust is going on there, i dont wanna be the hunted witch :)

Cool beans man!! I'm running dual Cherry Bombs on straight pipes. Has a good rumble, and isn't so loud that it bothers the neighbors...it's also one of the few mufflers that are small enough to not get crushed when I set it on the ground. I have a few boxes of misc stuff left over from mine. PM me if you need anything, and I'll see if I can help you out.
