That would be awesome if you'd bring the car to Billetproof, it also gives you a little deadline to finish :D "The Frog":D .
Hell, I'll drive up there with you. Let's organize a Socal to Bay Area caravan.

Where is Flynstone, when you need him????

  9. I addressed this issue earlier here with my thoughts, and opinion, and lack of concern. Read it, and tell me what you think

  10. It should be finished way before that. I have stuck myself in low gear since missing Paso with it. BUT, it's getting worked on. Headers to be built and intake installed, and i should be able for a maiden voyage. Then, just shy of interior, it'll be just connecting a few dots

  13. OK, it looks like my response disappeared? I believe their concerns are with RACE conditions. Far more lateral load than i'll ever show it. Plus, i'll throw $20 at a time in it for maybe 4 inches worth of fuel. Hardly enough weight or leverage to jeapordize the integrity on the tank. When i do fill it up, it'll be prior to a long trip and the fuel will be used way before it can be a threat. Again, i'm not at all worried about it and i believe the manufacturer is being over safe, and addressing RACE conditions. My friend has the taller version (more apt to your concerns), and in 2 weeks has only had 3 fires. KIDDING. Seriously, it'll be fine. Picture those 4 similar points in an engine lift plate bolted to an old aluminum intake manifold and lifting a 650 pound motor out of a car. I worry about THAT every time i extract a motor over a nicely painted car. I'm flattered you think my car can excellerate enough to "rip" the 4 mount pads off. Things come off wrong in print, so i'm NOT trying to be a smart ass. I'm just expressing my thoughts/opinions on the matter

  14. Thanks. I took it to a local hangout tonite, and everyone else dug it too. So, do i still keep the other rears for the occasional change? Or shitcan them altogether? I do want 2 looks for the car

    Hey Groucho,
How much Dynamat did it take to do your whole car? I didn't know about this stuff until I saw it in your car and want to use it in mine. I'm not looking to cut down noise , more the heat aspect. Does it do both? I assume you used the Extreme version?

    TIA

How about a little flake man? Seriously, it looks friggin great.

  19. Yes, they say heat AND noise. I bought bulk boxes online (36 sq ft per box) and so far have used a box and a 1/4 or so of another box. I still need to do the doors. Probably a box and a half total without doing the trunk. If it's reasonably quiet, i'll throw the rest in the Vette. But that noisy/hot POS might need a lot more than what's left

Thanx for that Groucho. Apparanetly we can get 12 and 36 sq.ft packs out here, mainly from the car audio shops. Will have to track down a supplier now.
    BTW love your coupe.

  21. Now THAT'S GREEN! Groucho, may I ask about how much that amount of Dynamat set 'ya back? (and sq. footage you laid?) I'm almost there with mine and I hate surprises:mad:. You could PM me if you'd rather- Thanks -Betruger-

  22. Dynamat on Ebay was "buy it now" for about $90 a box (36 sq ft) I think. I used a box and a 1/2. I do remember getting 4 boxes for $440. So, $110 a box shipped. When you find it, click "sellers other items", as he had more than 1 price for the same size box.

Bloody hell!! I am looking at $399 a 36 sq.ft. box out here in Oz. I didn't mind paying the $399 but didn't want to buy 2 boxes to do the job. Maybe US Ebay and pay the air freight bill and it would still be cheaper than getting it local but they probably wont ship outside the US. Is it self adhesive AND did you have any probs getting it in and around inside your body (32-5w that is)

  25. Self adhesive, and easy to work with. I would definately see if the ebay guy will to ship to you. This is one of his Ebay Ads

My buddy just put Dynamat in the quarters and doors of his steel duece 5w. It went from a tinny rattly sound to sounding like a thick fiberglass body. I tease him that now all the "body knockers" are going to think he's got a glass car. He said it made a world of difference in the noise level when driving.
