shifter conversion

    anybody know how i can move my 3 on the tree column shift to a floor shifter...? anyone done it before? i have a 55 plymouth...thanks

    Look for and old floor conversion. If I remember correctly those used a 2 arm shifter with one arm to select between the 2 gear sets. Hard to find a floor conversion for those anymore. Look at a J.C. Whitney catalog.

    Or swap it out for a later model trans an get a hurst for it.

    Its is possible, it takes a special shifter because of the selector type of ******. There are a few out there, most were made by Mr. Gasket, if memory serves. A standard hurst type won't work.
