The wife and I decided to hit a few parties that her pal's were hosting this past Saturday night. For the first time in a long while we didn't have rain in the foreca...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
Ouch! Get that thing back together - It'd be cool to see ya run at the drags.... Malcolm Liquid courage?
That is an aweful feeling. It is almost like having *** on the beach in a wind storm. Very grinding!!!
Ouch! Are those cases hard to get or is it repairable? Hope you have good luck getting it going again.
I hear ya Speed King. Get used to it Ryan, it WILL happen again........ Hope you can get it together for the HAMB drags! Brad
Sorry to hear that, hope you get it back up and running soon! I'm certain you will! Maybe auction off some of those HAMB gear-shaped paperweights you got there, offset some expenses
That is hot rodding. Put it back together make it stronger, so something else can break. For me it is a never ending cycle.
I detonated mine bad blew the cluster, and reverse idler gear apart I bought the MAC VAN PELT book and now can rebuild mine in less than a day.
So after you fix her, slicks are out of the question at the drags? ;-) It is a bummer. What's the repair timeline?
Been there. My '39 used to eat cluster gears on a regular basis. (Of course the were $3.00 at a wrecking yard in those days) What could be more traditional. .....Bob
Damn! He's been tearing up cars every since I have known him. He torn the drivers door off his Mother's car when he was two and things have just gone downhill since then. He went through racecars like **** going through a goose. However, he did win and was absolutely fearless. Once at the Texas Motorplex, he torn the frontend off of a '68 Camero that we bought from Les Figerua. It took the jaws of life to get him out of the car. His comment was "Well, ****." Trannies are meant to to broken. Racecars are made to run on the every edge of disaster. Those are the things that gearheads know and understand. Episodes like these give us a chance to get dirty and greasy and have fun.
beat it until it breaks ... only doit in the day time... sorry for your troubled night shift... the weak link is sometimes driver error
As soon as you fix it it always becomes stronger, but than that en***les something else to break and when you fix that.. something else will break. Thats the life a automotive enthusiast has chosen. But just remember! Everything has its own lifeline.. and everything is bound to break!
This wouldn't have happened with a C4... Mmmmm, crunchy cog goodness. It's s part of a healthy hot rod diet.
BEEN THERE DONE THAT!! I remember the idler gear roll out from under my 46 2-dr on blowin out the 39 box!! Contact Cornhusker Rod & Custom for the t-5 adapter kit, if you can stand to break tradition? As the other lads say, goes with the neighborhood!! Keep a spare ****** on hand-Sololobo/Roadburners of Omaha
wow! didn't think a flathead could do that much damage. The ****** in the 40 looked like that but it had a big pontiac in front of it. TP
