I have an opportunity to trade some car parts I have with a friend in Sweden.I want to ship him a T5 transmission. Can anyone recommend shippers,or methods to ship, that are reasonably priced. Most important would be that they are not known to have a lot of issues i.e. unhappy customers.
I shipped an old dragster to Finland with a company called SETEC in Theodore, Al., 251-231-8707. The owner 's name is Ivar Carlson and he is Swedish. I know he ships cars frequently to Europe via containers and could maybe fit your transmission in with a load. But....don't be in a hurry.
If you don't mind taking the trans apart and spending some time online at the post office website you can save your friend a ton of money. You may have to send it in two packages. One with small heavy things in a flat rate box and the rest in a big box. Like I said you have to spend some time with their calculator online. I ship Harley parts to Australia that way. Plus they have good tracking. Recommended!
I've been using So Cal Classics a lot (both parts and and a complete car) and couldn't be happier. http://www.socalship.com/
