I put out a request for shipping quotes for a pickup from Oregon to Missouri. To say I was flooded with quotes and follow-up after follow-up from some of the brokers would be an understaement. Prices ranged from just under $900 to about $1700. Some of the brokers seemed pretty sketchy when they called and almot all came up as "potential spam", although I did take a few of the calls.

I know this doesn't give an answer to the original request for recommendations, but I felt some confidence with Montway who quoted $1400. Another company Nexus out of the Chicago area (still a broker but claims to be insured) quoted $1700

I plan to message Bill Squires (Bill's Auto Works HAMB user name, correct?). Also, is the enclosed carrier in the mlagusis post GT Enclosed Transport? I might try to find them to call and possibly will call Reliable on Monday.

I'm flying out to look at the pickup in question next Thursday. It sounds like I have a window of time from about Sept. 29 to Oct. 9 to have the pickup picked up if I buy it.

Shopping for a shipper is was more stressful than I ever imagined it might be.
