They used to wait until the lake froze over, then have draft horses haul it across. But maybe that only works in the bays and along the shore. You might have to call Fed Ex Ground.

Maybe you can get Santa to put it in his sleigh and deliver it for you?

I guess i was referring to 2 things do you just strap it to a pallet or do you make a wooden crate? When the shipper arrives do they have a forklift or? Might be dumb ????'s but i just don't know.

I have received engines simply strapped to a pallet. If it's a fancy dressed engine a crate is necessary to prevent normal shipping abuse.
If you are shipping then you will haul the engine to the freight terminal unless the buyer is willing to pay extra for a lift gate truck to your house. If you haul it to a terminal , call in advance to see if they have road level access so a forklift can unload it from your PU truck or trailer.I assume you don't have a dock height large truck ? If taking the engine to a freight terminal use your engine lift to load the lump onto the pallet sitting on your truck at home. Then strap or build a crate around it. It's important to have all paper work and cargo ready to go for the shipper as they move freight and you won't get personal attention.

I use enginesdirect and the most coast to coast was $250. Drain it band it to a pallet and at $250 it is lift gate on both ends. They usually puick up with a 50 foot truck/ trailer so the easier fot the driver to have access the better 1-800-998-2100

  12. i used u ship .com..hemi was chain bolted to a pallet...$128 from hills of pa to michigan..no crate..arrived in perfect condition....will list what from where to where and they email ya the bids...i choice a larger company to do the deed....just felt better with a national truck service instead of some small idependent....
