Last saw this C cab back in the mid 70's getting built at the back of a speed shop Diablo Motors in Sydney Australia, It was one of the better speed shops who imported the best & latest parts from the US. The car was never completed & ended up spending nearly 40 years in a shipping container on the owners property. Fast forward to 2021 a friend of a friend asked if I had a distributor for a 324 Olds as the magneto was faulty. Long story short, I gave him a distributor to fire it up & I finally got to own the car last week. It has a 324 Rocket with a slant pan Hydro, mid 60's Corvette rear modified to coil overs. Has Holmes rocker covers which I have never seen in the flesh before. It needs a good freshen up & will be cleaning it up & finish it as the origional builder planned The candy paint is still in excellent condition & will polish up. Here are some pic's.
Sorry Interior is non existant , I will be doing it in white diamond tufft ,I think will suit the era.
The car is loaded with "Mr Roadster" parts, the Covette rear has all the correct parts to convert to coil over's.
This is so very cool!!! Congratulations on the find! This proves they are still out there! God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ar-transport-hauling-open-or-enclosed.614419/ "Losers make promises they often break. Winners make commitments they always keep." – Denis Waitley
What a great find. It has held up very well in the last 40 years of slumber! You don't see C Cabs very often anymore.
Very cool find. I really like C-Cabs. I had a couple in the 1980s, one of which is now a T-Bucket and the other is being rebuilt. Glen.
What a great score, congratulations, so very happy for you. Makes one ask himself "How many more cool old cars and Hot Rods are there still hiding around this planet?"
OMG it’s got an Olds in it! Looking at the little pictures on my phone, and the headers, I assumed it was a SBC, then I saw that magneto and thought, that ain’t gonna fit. So I went back and enlarged the picture. Wow. A blown Olds. What a find.
No kiddin', Bob! ^^^ I saw the bolts on the valve cover...Hmmm. Then I looked at the water pump. "Olds?Really?" This one's as they say, "ALL THERE!"
Wild, a real time capsule of that era. Do the front wheels mount over splines or something? Trying to figure out how disc brakes would work on those. Very interesting setup.
