Customs Shipping help Ridgecrest CA to Compton CA

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by kiwi_mal, Aug 26, 2014.

  1. I have a '53 Buick grill mustache that I need shipped from Ridgecrest CA 93555 to my international shippers at Compton CA 90220. I've been quoted $241 by the vendor. This seems excessive?
After any suggestions / help for more affordable shipping.

seems a little pricey to go 3-4 hrs south of you but that's shipping nowadays.
is it worth a daytrip for u to drive to LA and drop it off. if u have a commuter car your looking at 100-150,in gas and 8hrs of time.
I've notice shipping large items has become insanely expensive to ship.

I shipped a '53 Buick grill within California - just took it to local retail Postal Box Rental/Photocopying/Mailing store. They did the boxing up (well protected) and shipped via Fed-Ex.

I have shipped banger short blocks back and forth from San Mateo to Santa Fe Springs and the price was $100 each way. Door to door. I know it's So Cal Delivery, but i also know he goes north to Napa and east to Phoenix.

Ridgecrest is a small *** town in the midle of the desert and Compton is outside of LA. Its a pretty decent haul on a ****py highway. 170 miles one way. Unless you can get the seller to crate it and send it UPS or FEDEX freight you may have to pay the $. I think there are a couple of HAMBers in Ridgecrest......
