Since you haven't changed the control arm geometry, just shortened the springs, you should be okay...the car should not "bottom" on the shocks. This could happen if you cut the snubbers, however, so you'll need to check.

Heavy duty gas-filled shocks will improve the ride and will minimize the bottoming due to reduced suspension travel. The HD gas-filled shocks are more expensive, but they really improve the ride in a big way on lowered cars.

    Good luck!

I lowered my car and the springs I bought came with shortened shocks and when it was towed onto a flat bed the shocks that came with my setup where still to tall and so they bottomed out getting towed on to the flat bed and burst. I talked to the manufacturer of the shocks and they pointed me to a better shock for my setup. I have springs that are 3 inches lower then stock along with spindles that lower it another inch. The proper shock that was recommended is a special made Bilstein shock by RCD part number 55-R230.

i think the shocks i put on mine were for a mid 80 gm like a monte carlo. just redrill the bottom holes to match the shock mount.
