I need to cut and modify some two piece, dogbone, Model A/B type shock links, in order to get both cups on the same side. What is the material? Cast steel, I hope. Thought I would ask, before I cut 'em. THANKS!

    Check the parting line.
A narrow parting line is cast, a wide line is a forging.

I have seen them welded before.

The early version Model A-early 34 have the holes on opposite sides and the 34-35 have the holes on the same side.

    Thanks!
Found the new ones at Speedy Bill's.
    Didn't know about the 34-35's.

    Anybody actually welded any?
