    Chassis builders:

What is the best shock mounting configuration. Stright up? angled left/right? angled front to back?

The car is a '47 dodge with air bags. I can fab up and bracket I need.

I figure the top would mount to the top of the notch cross bar.

    Here's a pic.

Here's a pic from the front with the bag installed.

Wish I could help but my frame hasn't been modified like yours so my shocks are in the stock location. I like your business coupe.

From the little I know about suspensions, I would guess that many stockers had the shocks mounted on an angle to make up for not having a panhard bar or sway bar. The angle provides some resistance to sudden side movement. As do leaf springs. I would think that with a panhard bar the most efficient way would be straight up and down. Since the panhard bar is taking care of the sway you don't need any angle on the shocks. If I'm wrong, someone jump in.
