So I am about to embark on lowering the front end of my 54 Chevy Bel Air. My Fatman drop spindles are on the way and my cut off wheel is ready for the springs. My question to the HAMB is what about shocks?

What happens to my ride if I take 3-5" off the front? Do I need to consider that when buying shocks? Should I upgrade to a better shock?

I've found a cross refernce to some Bilstein's that look like they will hook up (24-002837) but will this be a good investment or a waste of jack?

I would think that much lowering would require shorter shocks or a different mounting location for them, so they don't bottom out. Did you ask Fatmans about the shocks? They should know, they are very good with that stuff. Normal Norman

Look in the back section of a shock absorber catalog and you will find shock dimensions in charts of style, stud-stud, eye-stud, eye-eye, etc.
