I saw it sitting at your shop a couple days ago and was glad to see you got it home. I will have to stop by and check it out closer.

Too cool. The find is sometimes the best part of it. Having your son there with you makes it even better. My son loves to go with me to dig em out of the earth. I think he is worse than me about falling i love with em. LOL.

  9. . Whadda sweet find!!! Lucky man!!!!
The only thing i'd do is lose that chrome, fuel surround, fender welting, and bumperguards,
But then again after reading about how rare the chrome welting is.....
    I'D STILL LOSE IT!!!!!!!!!!
    That's a gourgeous score sir....Congrats!!!!!!

  10. SHOEBOX BARNFIND UPDATE...
Well, yesterday, we got the shop cleared out (kinda) with just enough room to roll the '49 indoors. Travis warned us it had not been started for several years. Well we got excited and pulled the plugs and gave each cylinder a little taste of Marvel Mystery Oil. Grabbed the front pulley nut with the breaker bar and it TURNS OVER! OK, now were in business! One of the junk tires we stuck on there to roll it out of the barn won't hold air now. Tried to air it back up today but the tire goes SSSSSSSSSSS! Need to score some good tires for it. The brake pedal is flat against the floor - brake job on the way!
    More later...

Congrats on a great score. Now get cracking so you can drive it to the Stray Kat 500 in Dewey, OK in May.

Nice score. Too bad you couldn't have also picked up the Coke sign on the wall in the background ... ebay it to pick up some extra cash for the project!

That is a very nice find. I lived in B.A. Ok for about 30 years. One of the Prey boys found a 40 Ford coupe in a colapsed barn (this was in the '80's if I recall) The roof was somewhat caved in, but he had repaired it perfectly when I saw it. Point is though, this old coupe sitting in a barn that had colapsed all around it, had a Jag XKE motor in it! The swap was totally complete, it ran and everything, then someone just tucked it away and forgot about it.
