Have a '51 Ford w/a '79 302/C4 combo. Anyone know what type of cable I need to make the stock speedo work?

You should be able to use any later model speedo cable if you have the male thread on the back of the speedo housing. There are calculators online to determine which gear you need for the cable, depending on your tire size and rear end gear ratio.

The Stock, original type ... one should work ... :)

The end @ the transmission is the same as a C-4 one.

  8. Worst case you can have one made, like if you had none at all? But pretty much anything that's long enough and has the threaded connections on both ends would work, they made that stuff pretty standard early on and the only real change is some later cars use a clip on the speedo end instead of a threaded spin on connector.
