Looking at things helps see the light. The body side of hinge tells you where it goes. The inside edge is slanted to match the A post both top and bottom hinge. The slant goes opposite directions. On this car the weatherstrip is 1/2" tall and compresses to 3/8" when door is closed. The back side of both halves should be flat as a piece of glass. The pin boss arch's inboard on both sides. It's not uncommon to find them "adjusted" to help with door gaps. Also I clay'ed my hinge where yours has contact, closed the door. The compressed spot in the clay was .032 on mine. All this is subject to very pending your needs. Not sure this helps ya much but Food for thought if nothing else.
