    Hi All,

have a 50 shoebox in the shop, recent import from USA, has no E brake setup (what do these guys think? 302 and auto, single circuit drum brakes..no E brake..DUMB)

Anyways, I can only vaguely remember what the lever that attaches to the gearbox crossmember looks like, if someone had a picture of that area under the car I could build one easy enough Im sure. It still has the front cable in place, but they cut the ball end off (grrrr)

    Anyone have such a pic?

    Thanks!!

    Ben

sorry this this the best I can do.
that's a Jamco transmission cross member holding up a 350 auto transmission. the 2 brackets holding the parking brake cable and linkage is all in their stock locations and came pre-welded to the cross member.

    Thanks hoppy,

That gives me a basic Idea, so the rear cable joins on close to the pivot?

anyone got another shot on their computer before I bother F&J to take a photo?

    Thanks! Ben

otttoparts picture should put you on track, but if you need more, I am just finishing my chasis and can shoot some more before I put the body back on the frame.

  8. Fat47, thanks but the pics are for lowsquire.
He was looking for pics of the factory set up.

In case you have not made the lever yet, here is the ratio:

Measured from the stationary pivot hole center to the first hole is 1-3/4"

From the same stationary pivot hole to the farthest hole where the front cable attaches is 8"

p/s who the hell designed the stock master cylinder mounting setup, and how many parts need to be removed just to get the cyl off. Geez, I thought I was working on a modern car

    Thanks F&J !!!
I was trying to work it out from scaling the photos..I got 8 1/2 and 2"..pretty close!!

yeh that master cyl isnt much fun, even worse is trying to work out a system to fit a twin circuit master! I think people have left the original one, cut the rear face off and run a long rod straight through it to another master mounted further back behing the crossmember..
