I have a '49 Shoebox, stock Flattie with a 6volt altenator. I was trouble shooting my high/low beam switch. While taking voltage readings I let my lead touch both the outside leads of the switch (by accident). The car was running at the time, and it kinda hesitated for a sec. and then quit running. I won't start now, acting like there is no spark, battery is fully charged and car has always started well. Any ideas of where to start? Thanks.

Does the car have original wiring? The headlights were on circuit breakers under the dash. Perhaps you cooked one and it won't reset.
You said "acting like there's no spark" so I'll assume the starter still cranks. Do the headlights work?

Seems like you may have cooked a fusible link, even though the car didn't come with one.

Circuit breakers can fail too. They can get hot and the arm falls off. If mounted vertically, the arm will then proceed to burn a hole in the case.

You have a voltmeter, measure around and see where you have voltage and where you don't.
