Is this a known or common problem? After having a professional replace all my window gaskets, the front/back vent windows as well as the windshield still leak.

Did you use any sealer in the groove of the rubber when installing the gl***? HRP

I have restored a '49 and a '50. The '49 is a Dearborn Award Winner from the Early Ford V8 Club, and now in the collection of the Ford Motor Company at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. They both leak. My driver is a '51 (all coupes) and someone before I bought it, went around the window seals with tar, clearly visible, tar. It doesn't leak. Good luck!

My uncle had a '50 brand new and always complained of the windshield leaking.

I installed new windshield gl*** and seal in my '50 and it leaks a little in the lower right corner. Its a low mileage car, it has perfect original metal and beautiful original paint in the windshield channel area.
My neighbor remembers these cars when they were near new and he told me almost all of them leaked and the tar jkflathead mentioned was a common fix at the dealerships.
