Technical shoebox heater help

Having to install a new heater in my 1950 v8 and need to know which is the heater inlet hose, thanks

 

Inlet from the Water pump goes to outboard fitting on control valve. Cross over from valve to lower heater core fitting. Top core fitting is return. F.Y.I. since this photo was taken I had to buy a second new Control valve as well as the correct cross over hose. The extra weight of what you see connected and the fact is was not supported actually split the control valve soldered fitting. Not good, not good at all.
