Alright guys here is where I am at. The shoebox I just bought has the full Gambino setup out back. The front is stock cut coils. Rides like ****, rides on bumpstops. I am looking to put bags up front. I searched a few topics with not too much luck. From what I see, it looks like running lowering knuckles and the correct bags is the way to go. Am I missing something? I would love to see some pictures with how everyone is setup up front as well...
Have you looked into switching spindles side for side? Maybe run the popular aero star springs and change your spindles side to side for the drop spindle effect and you'd get pretty close I'd think. Tech o matic has the spindle swap info if you've never seen it
I think what Tim meant to say was Turing the uprights upside down. I put Fatman drop uprights on my shoebox stock springs . Aerostar springs are cheap favorite to some. Turning the spindle upside down or fron side to side will not help any.
Thanks I searched his terms and found alot. Looks like switching the uprights upside down drops about 3" and most say there is no difference from the Fatman or Jamco, just have to adjust steering arm with torch for correct alignment. That sounds like what I need to do for adding bags up front.
Some grinding may be involved for clearance when flipping uprights. Fatman came out with the drop uprights before jamco did.
The tech o matic is a sub forum of the Hamb like the cl***ifieds if you didn't find it yet. It's a post I started and it's ***led something like "Rocky's spindal swap" hope you find what your looking for
you could also look into "stepping" the lower control arms http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=317696
try airbagit.com..I use bags up front,i use firestone bags which i find work best, they have never burst or herniated on me.I use two viair compressors and parker fittings.
Yeah once I get further along I will. This is basically how I got the car other than bumpers and few things
Hombres Ruin, do you have the part number or bag size used in your set up? Was the shock recessed into the frame for tire clearance? thanks! David
Thanks. They looked good but I did not like em. I won't post more pics as ive got another thread with the paint but one will not hurt... Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
