I have a 4 cylinder Chevy Nova motor in a 28 roadster. I have mounted Delco Lovejoy lever arm shocks inboard of the frame. It appears I have some potential interference between the lever arm, and the oil filter. The simple solution is find a shorter oil filter, or plumb in a remote. The filter that was on the motor is 3 3/4 tall with a 7/8-16 thread pitch. Does anyone know of an odd ball spin on filter that is shorter? Thanks!

Get the good oil filter catalog that Fram has. It lists filter measurements. It will also interchange you over to other filter makers. You will also need to need o-ring size. And there are different style inside things. It is all listed.

I know I should learn how to post photos. I'm old and tired. Maybe my grandson can help me... The motor is disguised with a repo Frontenac valve cover, and a Burns Model A intake manifold, with two 81's. It has a lakes header, with a baffle in it, a marine water pump, and distributor. I lengthened the ch***is 7 1/2 inches and used a 40 rear end with the spring behind the axle. The rest is pretty normal, F1 cross member, 39 trans, 56 Ford pickup steering, Okie Joe drilled and dropped axle, 16 inch wheels, early Ford brakes, and lever arm shocks. I'll see if I can learn to post pictures. Thanks

TC got to O Reilly's on Broadway in El Cajon, about 2 blocks east of 67. Ask for John and he will get you the proper filter. Tell him I sent ya.

I am using a 6 cylinder filter on my v8 to clear headers, but it sounds like the size you mentioned.

Don't forget to allow for the mounting thread length when changing it, that could be another 3/4" of lost space.
