Technical Short-cuts to troubleshooting shorts?

    You could test it with a fresh battery and a set of jumper cables. Should be exciting. Be sure to get video.

    I'll add that a stuck pair of points will also make a ballast resistor get extremely hot.
     
  3. Fuses don’t protect anything from voltage, they protect against excessive current.
