Any of you roundy rounders have the inside track on this program? The promos indicate it may take place in the NE, with NASCAR modifieds. Here is the program description. Hope it isn't all screwed-up with stupid plot lines, BS crew infighting or the "stolen" cars in Boyd's / Foose's shows. My VCR is set. Gary

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD cl***=time>10:00 PM </TD><TD cl***=arrow>[IMG] </TD><TD>Madhouse: Madhouse Capture the blood, sweat and tears of the men who are heroes on Saturday nights at the longest running short track in the America. It's a volatile and unpredictable environment where tempers flare and anything can happen. A new season is about to begin, but scores remain to be settled from last year. Tim "The Rocket" Brown is the reigning champ who is on a mission to become the most successful driver in the Stadium's history. Chris Fleming is the underdog who will stop at nothing to run with the big boys. Then there are the Miller and Myers families, known by many as the modern day Hatfields and McCoys. Junior Miller, aka "The King," and Burt Myers, the all-American stud of the track, continue an ongoing feud and bitter rivalry that has been fueled by decades of hatred and revenge. The hostility on the track sets an unsettling tone for the new season.

  8. Tivo set....Thanks

  9. I wonder if that's the one I saw promos for that made it look like the Jerry Springer Show, only at the race track.

That's too bad. Could have been interesting. I guess if you want to watch racing... you gotta watch racing.

  12. It's too bad they have to make up all this phony drama ******** for these "reality" TV shows, based on the promo I figured to skip it, sounds like I didn't miss much.

I'd rather watch stuff like what I caught on ESPN Cl***ic last week - they showed the 1982 Richmond 400 for whatever reason. Saw it in the listing and decided to check it out and ended up watching it to the end - old school Nascar with real stock bodied cars on a short track, hard to go wrong there. Having no idea who'd won that one helped too. Between the breakdowns, wrecks, manual scoring, long pitstops (4 tires running about 30 seconds), and the weather, no phony drama necessary.

Ok, I watched it and found it pretty interesting from the team / preseason / mechanical deal. But only you guys who live in the area or know those racers can tell us if the blood is that bad between Junior and the rest of them, or if it was hoaked up for the show. At least they didn't spend a lot of time trying to explain oversteer (again, and again, and again). Might have to put that track on my bucket list, too, along with Bristol. Same time next week? Does anyone care to discuss why the reality producers thinks fighting like a bunch of *****y little girls is so interesting?
I liked the bike builder show EXCEPT for all that ****.
The fisherman fight, the loggers fight, the ice road truckers fight and feud.
On the show in Boyd's shop they were always *****ing and fighting.
Sorta like what's probably gonna happen here.
Isn't that what the WWF etc. shows are for?
Racing, and logging along with trucking and fishing aren't all about the *****y ****.
    I know *****, *****, *****....
Show that side, it is there but myself I think there's more to it. Hell even the sound track could be improved! I like the sound of short trackers making fast laps! Ain't too much sound track background music in most of my life.

Ive been around circle track racing for a number of years and after seeing the preview for the show, it is going to do nothing but make local racing look like a bunch on inbred racing yahoos that do nothing but race, drink, and fight. and in that preview i saw more fights at that one track than i have in the past 5 years at the local tracks i race and visit. imo its going to do nothing more than harm the sport and now people are going to expect nascar to behave the same way expecting fights to break out every time a driver gets spun out

Too bad shows like Overhauling didn't spend the time they wasted "stealing" cars and playing jokes on the victums actually telling us how / why the did what they did. Or that the build crew at Boyd's only worked their tools and creativity, not a ****ty script that had them wining all the time. I just taped them and then fast forwarded thru the ****ola to hit the high lights.

I can also imagine a race show where they let us see the cars being prepared, then qualify, then make the changes needed to get them faster and then acutally race a little. And a beer or two afterwards. I've never spent one minute watching any other reality show, ever. I made the exceptions to watch Boyd's and Foose's, and some of the shows on Speed because I take the chance I might actually learn something new or see something inspiring.

Looks like Madhouse is a tape and fast forward deal, too. Gary

TV is about getting companies to buy commercials during a show. The more viewers, the better for all. A racing show that focused strictly on the technical side of the sport would be boring to most people, viewers would stop watching, sponsors would quit and the show would be cancelled. How about a reality show about the building of a traditional hot rod with no drama involved? I would watch it, and so would most of the Hamb, but it would probably never happen.
