I like the long bed.......put a hard tonneau cover on it with a hole in the middle for a removable stripper pole.......give new meaning to a "dancing" bed.....

i think it needs about 2 feet taken out of the bed ,then the rear wheels need to center up on the bed .

Since you asked for the opinion of others I say there is no hope.. bags don't belong on open wheel cars or trucks.

Don't take this as harsh criticism, only my opinion. I would also probably shorten the bed quite a bit. I would also move the rear axle forward to center it in the new beds length, or even slightly forward of the center of the bed. If you like this look better, it could be done pretty easily.

You'd have to shorten whatever you used to locate the rearend, and the driveshaft. And section that same length out of the rear frame rails(or just move the bag mounts forward)

The one lesson that I have learned the hard way is that I will never commit to final welding up any project til I can wheel it outside and get a GOOD look at it from all views. I have learned the hard way how having things just a tad off can really throw the proportions off on a car

Again, only my opinion, here's a crude photoshop, the 2nd one with a shortened bed & shorter wheelbase.

**EDIT-well I guess I didn't read the part about hauling bikes in the bed. Maybe you can start building mini choppers if you shorten the bed:eek:

If you are building it to haul bikes then leave it long...just never take the bike off the back! I think if thats the purpose of the build then its cool because it works...but if you are just building a cool truck dodgerodder nailed it.

I think it looks like ****...as a hotrod. BUT with bikes on it...it would look functional and pretty good....I think...

Could you shorten it, then have an extension either slide out or flip out from the bed when you do put bikes on it?

I guess it depends on how often you will use it for hauling bikes. all the time.....leave it long and functional. not very often... work something else out.

    hahaha.

Yes, the purpose is to be able to have a radically styled and functional truck. The bed may have to stay 7 feet long out of necessity. If its any shorter, the wheels of the bikes will hang off the back.

I agree, that unladen it looks out of proportion though.

I never liked bags either, but since they are unseen.....who cares? It's not a traditional build anyways.
