Hot Rods Should I adjust steering box?

Adjust the steering box first, turn it lock to lock count the turns say 3 1/2 turns , run it back halfway 1 3/4, then adjust the box screw down try the wheel do that until you feel most of the play gone, lock it down and drive it around see how it feels. F100 boxes are inherently bad you should look at a different kind of box.

    Hey guys....I ordered a rebuild kit for the steering box today,,,Check out the nice worm gear...Also I had to drive the sector out of the case. One more Aerosol Overhaul from the good folks that built the car...Thanks Again for the postings and people I have spoken with on the phone

    I did rebuild the steering box. It was a fairly easy job Bigger PIA to get it off the car than to rebuild it. Purchased all the parts from MACs/Ecklers great service by the way. I did have to hone the bushings for proper sector shaft fit.It’s been raining so much here that I haven’t had a opportunity to drive it. But it has to be much better
