    Hi Guy's,

I'm gradually picking up drivetrain pieces for my next project (Model A roadster). I have a 350 chevy small block and 700r4, rear end and some of the rebuild pieces. A guy at work today has just offered me an 83 Tbird which has an 89 Mustang GT motor, rebuilt 4 speed with high stall converter and upgraded rear end also comes with mallory ignition system and long tube headers. He was building it as a street sleeper.

I was looking at buying it for the drivetrain and scrapping the rest. I haven't played around much with Ford stuff as I'm a chevy man. What would be a good price to pay? Especially since the house where its stored he has just sold and needs to get it out of the garage with in the next day or so.:D

My brother had that setup in a mustang. Ran amazing, looked ugly!

Nothing wrong with Ford stuff at all...but will the rearend be too wide I wonder?
Will the headers go anywhere near a Model A????
Another thing...somewhere along the line Tbird went IRS! I have no idea what year...although 83 seems early. I'd certainly take a peek before I buy!

A thing worth considering though, is that with a donor car you get MUCH more than a few select items.
There are parts your not even thinking about that you get to reuse in your project and also parts you get to sell to help offset the purchase price of the donor car.
If your really lucky you might get the stuff you need for free once all the parts sell off...

An '83 T-Bird, unless transplanted will be a live axle, and won't be the stronger axle found in later Mustangs.

Also, an 83 t-bird isn't worth much of anything. The x factor is whether your friend thinks it is due to the improvements.
