Nice dude. You should join our "Special Coupe" group here on the HAMB.

  4. I'm not sure what to do with it now, the ch***is and running gear are still 100% stock. I was thinking of leaving the banger in it for this summer, and maybe next winter taking it apart again. I have a 303 Olds and a 39 ford ****** I was going to put in my 31 coupe (sold to pay for this one) but there a little more to it than just swaping the engine. I'd have to find another rearend (36-40 maybe??) and then there is the mechanical brakes issue. They stop awesome right now, but a 303 goes a bit faster and weighs alot more than the banger. I've also though about maybe throwing two carbs a header and maybe a head on the 4 banger.

Personally, would probably have left it original, but the name on the ***le/bill of sale always rules. JMTCW.

    >>he lost his storage on it so convinced him to sell it to me so I could restore it to its original glory. I didnt say I was gonna restore it orginal though...<<

It's guys like you that convinced me to no longer give parts or deals to folks who 'need' them to finish their ride. You'd just turn around and sell it.

I like the way it looks now too but if the guy you bought it from gets pissed I don't think I would blame him.

I might be considered to be an old fart and I say.................I like what you did with it. It's your damn car, do what you want with it! Other people now have the benefit of using the parts you don't need.

It's not everyday you find an all original coupe...and get to cut it up yourself. Be proud.:D

looks great, i would keep the banger though goes with the look of the car

  18. I dont know if the guy would be too upset, aside from the chop everything can be put back stock again, and the roof was wrecked to begin with from the leatherback. When I went to look at it I was driving a slammed 58 edsel with a bullet grille inplace of the horse collar and the old guy liked it alot, and when I picked it up a few days later I was driving a customized 66 Mercury pickup with LG Kustoms & Hotrods painted on it, so he probably figured out it was going to get hotrodded. At least I didnt put it on a TCI ch***is with mustang II and a tuned port small block!!

I've always liked that body style, looks like it was/is a good solid car. Personally I'd like to see it slamed and full fendered, like the 30-31 Coupe someone has here on the HAMB. Have fun with it!

This sums up my feelings- You win two ways, ..
    1. bone stock all original 28,
    2. helped out other restorers PLUS YOU CAN DRIVE IT ! !

I wouldn't feel bad for the PO, he parked it since 77...his loss before you came around to 'save' it..
    Looks period..
