I say leave it as is.... looks meaner that way. High is brutal!! Besides that's what they would have done back then. Check out the 33 on this site: http://www.egeskov.net/fanoe/
Thanks for the input all!!! I'm off to Coker for a new set of rear tires today. I had the rears that are on the car in the pic, left over from another car. They had never actually seen the road yet, so I gave 'em a shot. They don't work. I'll hold them for the next project. I'm going to try a tire rake, and reverse the front spring first. If that doesn't get the look I want,,, I'll be back.
I am with Hudson on this one. We see a lot of slammed cars but I have always liked the HIBOYs. I can't wait to see this one when it is finished.
The only thing that should NOT be lowered is an old Dodge power wagon. This isnt a power wagon, so lower it!
Yeah low looks good. But I'd add taller rear meats and get some rake and run it. I personally love Jim Jards Deuce that ran 211 at B-ville Here it is at Roundup, wish I had a better side shot to compare. But this is a HOTROD!
I'm probably in the minority, but I'd lower the nose and leave it as it is. I like the taller, old style "soup job" look. When I was a kid, my Dad would drop the fenders, running boards, hood etc. to lighten it up a little and go racing, but that was the really "old days".
Some said to lower it. Some said to run it.... Took 'em all with a grain of salt, and decided to resize the rear tires, and call it a day. better????
Boy that thing is going to be a gass hog!! You should sell it to me and go out and get an Scion XB...I hear those things are great on gas!
Give it a minor rake with tires, it looks great as it is. Who needs a car that bottoms in every dip in the road. Remember it's your car and your money, do it your way! You do not have to impress anyone but YOU.
If you aren't sure, then just don't do anything you can't put back. At least to start with... If it were me: "Should I lower this???" = "should I sleep with this busty swimsuit model???" Hope that helps... -bill
