I agree. It's not often on the hamb you hear talk like this but really, there are plenty of clapped out 5 windows begging for over head valves and air conditioning.

You'd probably get more sympathy if you said your just taking off the spare, putting in a dropped axle, juice brakes, longer shackles in back, and two deuces for the flatty.

I am sorry was I looking for sympathy? Naw, I am good. I got a great lady that I bought a great car for and life is damn good. Infact I was not even looking for opinions, guess I just wanted to show my garage buddies the ride...and brag a bit. This place is full of a bunch of god damn restoration freaks.

For what it's worth, I hate the color and black sounds good to me. I also like small block chevys, don't blame you a bit. It's the wifes dream car? Then make it her dream car. Your not sending it to the crusher, you're changing to make it yours. Go for it (as if you were waiting for me to tell you to:D)

I like the color and red wires are about as played out as I have seen.

I know you're not looking for advice, and I try to stay out of situations like this, but I have to agree with the m***es. Automotive Stud's ideas sounds like a perfect plan to me.

And don't 36's already have juice brakes? I thought all the wide 5 stuff was hydraulic, and that the 40-up stuff is just more popular because you can run different wheels. I could be wrong, though.

  8. Brag away, that car's awesome! I can't tell you how nasty the one's I'm looking at are, but regardless how bad, I'll be braggin' too when I get one. '36s ala cole or jawdrpn36 are inspirational customs in my book.

Man, heres another "my 2 cents" for you to disregard. I like the paint idea it sounds like it will turn out great, even the sbc that will give you power that you, she is looking for. But I would leave the skirts, loose the spare tire, WWW's all the way, drop the back about 2 or 3 inches, and keep the body mods very simple maybe just shave the handles, the drive the **** out of it.
But like I said its just "my 2 cents"

Hey man I am good with everything that people have said. There are several way a car can be done. Here it is with bigger tire in the back really it is to big but the 6.50 made the flatty have a top speed of 55 mph This will get me to 65 and I had it laying around.

Right on! I MIGHT be tempted to use some rubbing compound on it to take the shine off, but that's a matter of personal taste. Don't do a Coddington on it, it'll only be a virgin once.

Beautiful car and a lucky wife.

I love the paint as is. Just a ****er fer green. I can understand the gloss black too. I hope you don't mean a small block chubby... WHY! 2k on a rebuilt flatty should go for quite a while, maybe not fast but should go. If ya gotta get a new mill try another Ford. Way to many boring old sb chevys out there.

tell em you want to bag it and watch the sparks fly...Like my old man always told me..."now that you got it dont go and **** it up!"

Wasnt that the whole reason for havin a hot rod was changin it up to your liking...not just the brakes? I bet it will look great with the changes you have in mind. Its a real good lookin car no matter what you do with it.

    Huh?

  28. What size tires are those? I was thinking of 8.50's on 7 in. wheels for my 36 but not sure if they will rub. I changed to 46 brakes and they're great. Mine's black with red wheels. I p.m. a pic. Mike
