Yes you should trade that pick up for a Model A - just NOT that one.

The A looks like ****. If the rear is indeed welded in cant see how the rest of it would be much better.

Maybe sell the truck and start buying what you need for an A.

  3. Keep your truck. Offer the guy $500 for the A. Too much work for a trade.

I love the A's..but..I agree with the others on here.

if the rear is welded to the frame , what kind of other **** is hidden from view and sub-par?
I think the A owner is trying to dive out from under a debacle that he knows is unsafe

turn and walk away..Nice C-10 BTW, at least it can make it to the gas pump, without killing you or someone else

I don't get these people with super ****ty A's that think their sitting on gold? And it's a real shame how many original bodies are getting butchered buy hacks that think their hot rod builders. No, I'm not a builder but I also know better than to f*ck one together like that.

I also like how the "builder" took the time to make one of those stupid spider web grills, but not do the rear even close to acceptable.

Thanks guys.. I will be p***ing this one up! It's always nice to get second opinion on things like this.

  10. I had that same problem 3 years ago when I bought mine. I could not find anything decent as a project car. So I bought a gl*** body & fenders and and built my own. I don't know if I would do it again but what I have now is a good step towards getting what I want. And it's been a lot of fun. It's the first gl*** car I've built and I'm really a real steel guy, but if I were you I'd keep looking, like me 3 years ago, Id rather have a nice gl*** car then a steel POS. My 2 cents.

There are plent of knuckleheads out there who either are bone dog ignorant about how cars function or just bone dog ignorant. This A's owner qualifies under both catagories and the Darwin theory too.
Keep the truck, buy the A for parts and build a correct and safe little car.

There is very little "Model A" in that Model A.

Glad you decided to p***! Fix the stuff that is wrong with that '70 and save your pennies to build a nice 'A

You just dodged the bullet, and hopefully the rat rod mentality that would have gone with that POS. Keep looking, something that's worthy of your time will show up. In the meantime your truck isn't exactly chicken feed. Do a little work and make it a little better. It will bring more when you sell or trade and will be more of a pleasure to drive while you still have it.

Don't just p*** that thing up but don't tell your friends about it either. Guys like this gotta learn. Rat Rods **** and if he thinks he can trade straight up for your C-10 he has a high opinion of himself. The cost in manhours alone to make this thing driveable is way more than starting from scratch with a good solid roller without an engine/trans. Tell him if you filled the tank with gas you would double the value of his P.O.S. and walk away.

OR... find a nice Model A body and use the C-10 as a drivetrain donor... You can haul the parts home in it and once the pickup is gutted sell the part you don't use to fund the A project..

tell ya what, give me that c-10 and i'll take a dump in a box and you'll end up ahead of where you'd be with that A......

  30. That "Model A" looks pretty hokey to me. But its a no brainer your C-10 aint no prise and a model A with a ***le is a good starting place.

So the big question is which tooth do you want me to knock out. IE which one do you want to work on the most. Either one is going to be a pain the way I see it so you just have to decide where you want it to hurt.
