i have a 1956 packard clipper super 4 door and i dont have the money to fix it and sell it i could sell it in the hundred of pieces it is in or i got an idea to make it a g***er put a stright axle under it and put a big block olds and a 4 speed is this a good ides i have never seen it and i kinda want to keep it but i dont know if it would look good i think it would look ***s in red primer with white wall pie crust slicks in the back but what do i know so let me know is it a go or a no
So, if you don't have the money to fix it, where are you going to get the money to build it into a "g***er" ????? Besides, a huge 4 door car generally defeats the "g***er" purpose....there were some, no doubt, but not many. Start by fixing one piece at a time......start cleaning one of the hundred pieces, the re***emble it to another cleaned piece....and so on.........
You already answered your own question , NO ! Keep what you have and go from there . You just don't take a Packard and chop it all up to make it into a awful looking g***er ! That is just plain wrong ! The Packard would make a real nice cruiser . Drive it for a while and then get something else . You have to start someplace and you already have a good car so why not just work with what you have instead of piecing it all out and having pieces of worthless junk laying around that you couldn't sell . You will regret it in the long run . Either fix what you have or sell it and start over but don't try to make a g***er out of a Packard ! RetroJim
Put it back together, sell it, buy something that makes sense as a g***er. Manual trans or auto in the Packard now?
LOL, I was just thinking that. It took two times through to figure out what the hell he was trying to say.
I was going to build a square bodied airplane with swept back wings and Model A engine to compete in a super sonic speed contest.
A 4dr Packard g***er aint even close to ol'skool, Youngun. Ya need to do a little research before ya start wasting the money you don't even have. Oh, and ya might want to wait a few years until yer old enough to legally drink that PBR.
"Putting money into it to sell it" is rarely a good idea. Rare indeed, will the investment return to you in kind.
