Awesome roadster, love it all. I also love the 6 EX Scavenger tubes as a star detail. Had a pair of those hanging under the axle of my Custom J in the early 1960s. Our local car club's named "Scavengers" Coconut Grove/Miami EST 1957 Terry did a new club art, with same idea of our old T-shirt's
Joey, are you sure there was a twin brother? The article calls him Jerald with a J and you called him Jerry as well, a common nick name for Jerald or Gerald. Seems rather odd two brothers would be named Jerald and Gerald. Possible I guess but really confusing! Love the article BTW. Dave
very cool northwest rod, big props if actually drove it in any season outside of summer here. Usually a short window here for roadsters with no tops. My grandfather in the mid 70s bought a 28/29 roadster in in the Portland area that had the doors welded up. Probably not many around in that time. By then it had a 305 chevy and a automatic if it was the same car.
There were twins, and the spelling is correct. I received a letter this week from a friend who lives in Hermiston, that included the Obituary for Gerald, who p***ed away last month. Jerald p***ed some time back.
@dwollam - As @Marty Strode stated, @J.Ukrop is correct about the McBee brothers being twins (they were born on July 24th 1940). Jerald C. "Jerry" McBee p***ed away on December 28th 2007 (see this post). Gerald R. "Gerry" McBee p***ed away last month on October 7th 2021 (see this post). Both brothers were lifelong hot rodders / drag racers.
Wow! Thanks @Marty Strode and @HEMI32 . Very interesting! I remember Mom yelling at us kids and going through all 4 of our names plus all her siblings names before she got it right. All the McBee parents had to do was 1 name for both. RIP McBee brothers. Dave
